Why tutor with me?

I am an undergraduate Honors student at Florida State University with a strong academic foundation in reading, writing, and the social sciences. Through advanced coursework and years of honors and AP classes, I developed skills in close reading, analytical writing, and critical thinking that directly inform my tutoring approach. My experience comes primarily from one-on-one peer tutoring and volunteer work with elementary through high school students, where I focus on clarity, patience, and adapting instruction to each student’s learning style. Rather than just memorization, I emphasize conceptual understanding, organization, and effective study strategies so students can work independently and with confidence. I have supported students with reading comprehension, essay development, exam preparation, and study skills, and my academic performance reflects this skill set, including a 1510 SAT superscore (750 Reading), a 32 ACT composite (36 English, 32 Reading), and top AP scores in English, history, and government.
